Relativity

Einstein’s Dream

The window glass ripples
in its sash.  Trees
swim an undulant lawn.
Clouds droop then arch,
a slow butterfly stroke
until lost beyond the last pane.
On a reeling sidewalk
people toss about unawares.
Nothing without is firm—
all is tenuous flux, though nailed,
rooted, mortared to a point.
