Some information about the poet Sappho and a good explanation/description of the Sapphic Stanza. Most of the poems on the site linked to are not by Sappho, but are modern poems written in Sapphic Stanzas.

A hint about my poem: condense everything down, including the title, into one stanza.  This poem imitates the fragmentary nature of most of what remains of Sappho’s poetry.  One or two whole poems remain, but most are fragments quoted in other texts.
