Perfect Error

Today’s Read Write Poem prompt is to write about flaws and perfection.  Although the flaw part is more obvious in my poem, the perfection is there too, if you look for it.  (I hope.)

Darwin’s Drive

The white goose
lays a white egg
in the white gravel
of the lane.

Hiding in plain sight
among small stones,
instinct’s logic
becomes its flaw

as one life
flattens another
on its way
to get a dozen eggs.

  1. Oh…almost so perfect! And, if it weren’t for man, I’m sure nature would still bring a demise to that almost perfect scenario. Great title!
