Poem

View From the Third Floor

Cirrus cloud
ice crystals
gleam

above
the gray
fading of day.

I hear dogs
bark a block away
but no one stirs

in narrow green
back yards,
fenced against

each other.

  1. As one is wont to do with poems, I read this aloud. Lovely rhythm to it.

I have seen such “narrow green back yards, fenced against each other.”

Which is why I never chose to live in suburbia.

  2. Ah, I don’t think my commentary matters a whole lot. But, I do like your humour, and like Marisa I like that phrase ‘fenced against each other’ and agree… suburbia would not be a healthy choice for me.

Wishing you well, glad you’re writing every day.
