Small Poem

An April Lover

I was wintering between words,
saving myself for spring,
but the ice blue sky
and empty trees
begged a remembrance
and I complied.

  1. Wintering between words – lovely… and I loved the poet’s response to the ice blue sky and empty trees begging remembrance. Something like that happened to me last winter. Thank you.

  2. Wonderfully written 🙂 “wintering between words” ~ the space between that sentence has a great feeling to it, pausing between seasons…. ~April 🙂

  3. I also like the part “wintering between words.” I think every writer has been there. And the letting go too. The compliance, sometimes against a certain stubbornness we’ve been holding on to.
