One Shot Wednesday

Hosanna

Birds
stitch stray clouds
into a blanket
drawn over
at dusk.

Then snow falls,
covers bottle caps
and newspaper shards,
tops the wren’s nest
with a white cornice,
a transitory grace.

  1. Witnessed snow this morning, so the lines in your poem seemed to jump off the page, especially in the second half. Nice overall poetic composite. Agree w/suzicate, great phrase “transitory grace.” cheers

  2. I agree with everyone else, such a fascinating view. This one for me casts great imagery in the onset of winter…wonderfully written!! ~April 🙂

  3. Phheeww..what an image this was!! I could almost see the flakes drifting outside my window, forming a cover over the wren’s nest..

The onset of winter so well described! I was absolutely drawn by the first stanza.. it was simply lovely!
